We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Program Manager who has experience in engineering, new product development or manufacturing environments. Working as the Programme Manager you will coordinate Engineering support in winning new business; deliver custom solutions from proposal through to mass production; and manage one of the company’s flagship programmes. This is a business-critical role with significant customer facing time on Teams and occasionally face to face.

Working as the Program Manager you will use your organising and influencing skills to drive opportunities forward, develop proposals that meet customer needs, and deliver them through project managing and co-ordinating the work of the UK based Engineering team and Malaysia based factory. DUTIES

  • Capture and drive to successful completion sales opportunities requiring Engineering support (working closely with Sales & Product Management).
  • Develop commercially viable custom project & product proposals that meet the needs of customers and win the business.
  • Own and maintain the custom product process (from sales enquiry to delivery) to maximise efficiency and efficacy.
  • Report to senior leadership on engineering-supported opportunities.
  • Manage custom New Product Development projects through the entire lifecycle from concept to successful completion.
  • Engage internal and external stakeholders to maintain alignment both on the project delivery and the product being developed.
  • Proactively identify and respond to project risk & uncertainty, escalating where appropriate.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet the required quality standards, and that projects are delivered within agreed budget, timescales and in accordance with design & project management processes.
  • Be the focal point for Sales, Product Management & Production on a flagship program to support delivery and coordinate the road map of new products and feature enhancements.
  • Work with Product Management to maintain product documentation.
  • Work within Engineering to maintain and improve documentation and processes to drive efficiencies within the program.
  • Report on program KPIs.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Comfortable and confident in leading customer conversations and managing their expectations, both on Teams and in person.
  • A self-starter with a ‘can do’ attitude and a bias for action.
  • Highly organised both as an individual and a leader, ensuring the team have clarity to work efficiently on the right things at the right time.
  • Strong team-working and communication skills. Confident in collaborating with people from different technical backgrounds and holding them to account.
  • Strong networking and influencing skills.
  • A lateral thinker able to lead an interdisciplinary team to resolve complex problems.
  • Resourceful. Somebody who thinks outside the box to quickly and effectively overcome obstacles.
  • Able to seamlessly jump between the fine detail and the big picture, and has a knack for cutting through noise to get to the essence (and bring others on that journey).
  • Previous project / program management experience with complex products or solutions.
  • Degree qualified (or experience and training to match) in a technology, engineering or other relevant discipline.
  • Desirable to hold an advanced project management qualification or certification (Prince2, APM PMQ, PMP).
