JOB OVERVIEW
Due to sustained growth and the expansion of the team, we have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Technical Sales Engineer / Area Account Manager to join a growing sales team supporting customers across the UK. This role is home-based and focused on developing new business while managing and growing existing client relationships.
As a Technical Sales Engineer / Area Account Manager, you will work closely with customers to understand application requirements, providing technical advice on servo gearboxes, motion systems and automation solutions. You will play a key role in specifying products, preparing proposals and supporting projects from enquiry through to completion.
This position offers the chance to work with blue-chip manufacturers, attend industry exhibitions and contribute to continued business growth within the motion control and industrial automation market.
DUTIES
- Business Development: Identifying and developing new sales opportunities across assigned territories
- Account Management: Managing and growing relationships with existing customers
- Technical Sales Support: Providing expert advice on servo gearboxes, motion control and mechanical automation products
- Product Specification: Sizing and specifying servo motors, gearboxes and motion components
- Sales Proposals: Preparing customer presentations, quotations and technical proposals
- Project Management: Managing sales projects through the full sales cycle
- Commercial Negotiation: Negotiating pricing and commercial terms
- Market Engagement: Attending exhibitions, trade shows and technical events
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
- A qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Engineering discipline (HNC, HND or Degree)
- Previous experience in technical sales or account management
- Experience with servo motors, gearboxes, motion control, automation or robotics
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- A full UK driving licence
DESIRABLE
- A background in industrial automation or mechanical engineering environments
- Experience supporting manufacturing or blue-chip customers
