JOB OVERVIEW: We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Headteacher to provide strategic leadership within a successful and inclusive primary education setting, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning, safeguarding and pupil achievement. As a Headteacher you will lead the school community with vision and integrity, guiding staff development, curriculum delivery and school improvement while creating a supportive learning environment where pupils and staff can thrive. The Headteacher will work collaboratively with leadership teams and stakeholders to maintain strong educational outcomes, promote high standards of behaviour and ensure the effective day-to-day operation of the school.
DUTIES: Your duties as the Headteacher include:
- Strategic Leadership: Provide inspirational leadership that sets high expectations for teaching, learning and pupil outcomes
- School Improvement: Shape and deliver the school improvement plan to drive continuous progress and educational excellence
- Teaching and Learning: Monitor and evaluate classroom practice to ensure consistently high-quality teaching
- Staff Development: Inspire, support and develop staff through performance management, professional development and mentoring
- Safeguarding Leadership: Establish and maintain a strong safeguarding culture that protects and supports all pupils
- Operational Management: Oversee the effective day-to-day running of the school, including behaviour standards and attendance
- Financial Oversight: Work with finance teams to manage the school budget efficiently and ensure effective resource allocation
- Community Engagement: Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, governors and external agencies
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- ESSENTIAL: Qualified Teacher Status and successful completion of induction
- Previous experience in a senior leadership role within primary education
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS and National Curriculum frameworks
- Proven experience of improving pupil achievement and educational outcomes
- Experience with safeguarding responsibilities and promoting pupil wellbeing
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams
- Experience with school improvement planning and monitoring teaching standards
- DESIRABLE: A relevant leadership qualification such as NPQH or willingness to undertake one
- Experience with whole-school budget management and financial oversight
- Experience with adaptive teaching approaches and inclusive education practices
- Experience of working collaboratively within a multi-school or partnership environment
