We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Section Leader / Food Safety and Hygiene Supervisor with excellent team leadership / supervisory skills, experience in a hygiene supervisory role within an FMCG and knowledge of chilled food manufacturing. Working as a Section Leader / Food Safety and Hygiene Supervisor you will join the team covering 2 site units, reporting to the Night Shift Managers team. Your role will see you working and liaising with other teams such as Technical, Operations, Health and Safety, Production, Engineering and Procurement.
As the Section Leader / Food Safety and Hygiene Supervisor you will be specifically responsible for the management of hygiene within the production areas at the two sites. Supporting the Site Management team, you will ensure that the site is of a high hygiene standard to ensure food safety. You will be responsible for ensuring the hygiene function is compliant to customer codes of practice, BRC and all other auditing bodies.
DUTIESYour duties as a Section Leader / Food Safety and Hygiene Supervisor will include:
- Managing allocated team during hygiene tasks to ensure high standards are achieved
- Management of cleaning on site, production equipment and areas as required by the needs of the business
- Responsibility for site Hygiene system ensuring that Hygiene activities are planned, actioned and recorded on time and report any variance/ concessions
- Ensuring all associated paperwork and systems are completed as per procedure
- Ensuring that all equipment, chemicals and other related contracts are maintained and inspected as per the schedule
- Regular stock checks and ordering of cleaning equipment and chemicals, hygiene PPE with the procurement team
- Ensuring that throughout the cleaning process all food safety and Health and safety protocols are managed and maintained
- Ensure that you operate through KPIs that run in the order of Safety, Quality, Cost
- Provide training to new and existing members of the team, working with the Training team to manage training matrix and plans
Experience working within a hygiene team along with supervisory experience. Excellent track record of delivering success in a hygiene supervisory role within an FMCG, including high care. Food Hygiene & HACCP. Awareness of Auditing, Pest Control and Allergen awareness. Knowledge of the principles of chilled food manufacturing. Hygiene & environmental management systems. IT literate including Word and Excel. Excellent level of written and spoken English.
