We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Welder Fabricator who is technically minded with the ability to read and understand engineering drawings as well as interpret measuring devices. Working as the Welder Fabricator, you will be responsible for fabricating components from drawings and performing welding operations to join components. Ideally, you will have experience in both MIG and TIG welding, as well as the ability to read fabricating drawings and use hand tools and other equipment to fabricate and assemble components. Knowledge of a range of materials and processes is essential, including the ability to read and interpret technical drawings. The role requires excellent attention to detail and an ability to work to tight deadlines.
DUTIES
- Operating welding equipment to join metal components
- Reading blueprints and drawings to determine the specific welding requirements
- Fabricating and repairing metal components and structures
- Inspecting finished welds to determine structural soundness
- Using a variety of welding techniques, including tungsten inert gas (TIG), metal inert gas (MIG) and arc welding
- Using hand tools and grinding equipment to prepare material for welding
- Carrying out routine maintenance on welding equipment
