SALARY: £21.19 per Hour (Effective Hourly Rate on shift pattern) + Overtime (paid at £26.96/hour) + Benefits

LOCATION: Saltburn-by-the-Sea, North Yorkshire

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: Two-week compressed shift pattern. Four x 10-hour day shifts Monday to Thursday 07:00-17:30 followed by four x 10-hour night shifts Monday to Wednesday 19:00-05:00, Thursday 17:30-03:30

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a CNC Miller / CNC Machinist to join a well-established precision engineering manufacturer following investment in new machining capacity. As a CNC Miller / CNC Machinist you will set, programme and operate large CNC milling and horizontal boring machines producing complex one-off components to exacting standards. The CNC Miller / CNC Machinist will join a supportive team committed to continuous learning, quality and long-term career development. DUTIES

Your duties as the CNC Miller / CNC Machinist include:

  • Programming and Setting: Set, programme and operate large FANUC-controlled CNC milling and horizontal boring machines
  • Precision Machining: Manufacture one-off components from billets, castings, forgings and fabrications
  • Reading Drawings: Interpret engineering drawings and manufacture components to specification
  • Inspection and Measurement: Check dimensions and surface finish using manual measuring equipment
  • Quality Standards: Produce high-quality work while taking excellent care of customer components
  • Continuous Improvement: Continue developing machining skills through the company's competency framework and training opportunities

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Time-served machine shop apprenticeship
  • Previous experience operating CNC milling machines or horizontal borers
  • Able to set up one-off machining jobs
  • CNC programming experience
  • Able to read engineering drawings
  • Skilled in using manual measuring equipment to inspect dimensions and surface finish
  • Strong attention to quality and accuracy

DESIRABLE

  • Experience machining large precision engineered components
  • Experience using FANUC CNC control systems
