JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Arborist / Tree Surgeon / Climber with experience in a similar arboricultural / climbing / tree surgery role.

The company is a leading arboriculture contractor based in the South East with contracts starting in the Cambridge and East area. They provide all aspects of professional arboricultural & tree surgery requirements to highways, rail, landowners and commercial sectors to include local authorities, housing associations and schools.

If you have experience as an Arborist / Tree Surgeon / Climber that’s great. If not, you could be considered in a ground worker / tree cutter / de-vegetation operative / tree climber position.

The company will pay for CSCS and safety critical medical if you don’t already have it.

DUTIES

Your duties as an Arborist / Tree Surgeon / Climber will include:

• Perform all aspects of arboricultural and tree surgery works to a high standard, safely and efficiently

• Operate and maintain a variety of tools and equipment used in tree work and de-vegetation

• Work effectively as part of a team and independently when required

• Communicate professionally and courteously with clients and the public

• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies

• Complete tasks with excellent attention to detail, ensuring quality outcomes

• Participate in both day and night shifts as required by project demands

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

As the Arborist / Tree Surgeon / Climber you will have:

Essential

• A positive attitude

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Good communication and customer service skills as you will be dealing with the public

• Be self-motivated

• Have excellent attention to detail

• Reliable, punctual and well-presented

You will hold:

• Full driving licence (with no more than 3 points) essential

• Demonstrable experience within a similar role (ideally 3 years climbing and industry experience)

• Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-cutting (CS30) and Felling Small Trees (CS31) essential

The following would be advantageous:

• CSCS and safety critical medical – the company will pay for this if you don’t have it

• NPTC CS38 (Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue) and CS39 (Use of a Chainsaw from a Rope and Harness) or equivalent

• Commercial crown reduction/local authority contact experience

• MEWP (Mobile Elevating Work Platform) Accreditation

• First aid (forestry) qualification

• Chapter 8 signing, lighting & guarding qualification

The company enforces a zero tolerance drug & alcohol policy with random checks carried out regularly.
