JOB TYPE: 18 Month Apprenticeship Contract
WORKING HOURS: 30 Hours per Week, 8:55am - 3:25pm Monday to Friday (39 Weeks per Annum)
JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new apprenticeship opportunity to join this primary school as an Apprentice Teaching Assistant. As the Apprentice Teaching Assistant you will join a school that has just welcomed Ofsted (Feb 2025) and who confirmed that the academy remains a GOOD school. The school is looking for an Apprentice Teaching Assistant who is enthusiastic, nurturing and positive to support and enhance the teaching and learning of their pupils. As a successful candidate you will have a flexible approach to work and be key in helping pupils achieve their full potential during their time at school. You will gain the support, knowledge and experiences needed to successfully complete an 18-month Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship. The school has transformed in recent years and is at a point of rapid growth and development. Their children are at the heart of all that they do, and their uniqueness is celebrated, they attend and behave well and enjoy developing their creative skills. DUTIES
- Supervise and support the teaching activities of individuals or groups of children/young people
- Monitor individual pupil’s progress, achievements, problems, condition and development needs
- Assist the teacher in the development, delivery and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care Programmes
- Prepare and deliver programmes to support Special Needs e.g. Read Write Inc, one to one tuition, interventions etc, following the guidelines and training given under the guidance of the teacher
- Assist the teacher with the planning of learning activities in the classroom
- Provide support for local and national learning strategies e.g. English, Mathematics, and Early Years.
- Assist the teacher with the administration of baseline/tests and other assessments
- To prepare and maintain equipment and teaching resources for lessons and activities
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- GCSEs grade A - C / 9 - 4 in English and Maths or equivalent level of numeracy and literacy
- Confident in building and maintaining relationships with young children
- Able to follow instructions and complete tasks set
- Able to use own initiative
- Able to communicate effectively in spoken and written form
- Demonstrated competence in numeracy and literacy
