After School Club Assistant / Childcare Playworker

An excellent opportunity to join a professional and friendly childcare team, supporting children aged 2–11 in a stimulating, safe and fun after-school environment.

NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED – FULL TRAINING PROVIDED

SALARY: £12.21 to £17.00 per Hour (depending on experience)

LOCATION: Tunbridge Wells, Kent, South East England

JOB TYPE: Part-Time & Full-Time, Permanent Positions Available

WORKING HOURS: Very Flexible between Monday to Friday

The company will consider hours to suit your lifestyle. This could be Term Time Only or During the School Holidays. Or you may want Full-Time Hours and work 35 hours per week. This can be discussed in more detail during the interview process.

Job Overview

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an After School Club Assistant / Childcare Playworker to support a well-established childcare setting providing engaging and creative play opportunities for children.

As an After School Club Assistant / Childcare Playworker you will help deliver fun, safe and inclusive activities, encouraging children’s learning and development through structured and free play.

The After School Club Assistant / Childcare Playworker role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and is looking for flexible, rewarding, term-time hours with opportunities to develop within childcare.

Duties

  • Supporting Play Activities: Assist in planning and delivering fun and engaging activities for children aged 2–11
  • Ensuring Safety: Help maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for all children
  • Guiding Development: Support and record children’s learning and development through play
  • Preparing Refreshments: Assist with snack preparation and maintaining hygiene standards
  • Providing First Aid: Administer first aid after completing training
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
  • Outdoor Play: Supervise and encourage children in outdoor and forest school sessions
  • Setting Up and Tidying: Prepare play areas before sessions and ensure tidy-up after activities
