LOCATION: Barnsley, South Yorkshire (S73) – 100% Site Based

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 7.30am – 4pm Monday to Thursday, 7.30am – 1pm Friday

Job Overview: We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Production Administrator to join a busy manufacturing and production team based in Barnsley. As the Production Administrator you will provide vital administration and document control support across production, QA and office functions, ensuring all records, certificates and production documentation are processed accurately and efficiently.

The successful Production Administrator candidate will have excellent organisational, communication and multitasking skills, alongside previous experience within administration, document management or a manufacturing environment. You will work closely with production teams and wider office departments, supporting daily operations, maintaining accurate records and helping ensure production deadlines and quality standards are achieved.

Duties:

  • Collating QA Documentation: Preparing, organising and maintaining quality assurance paperwork and associated production records
  • Updating Production Information: Refreshing and collating production status information accurately for internal teams
  • Supporting Multiple Departments: Providing administrative assistance across production, QA and office departments when required
  • Filing and Scanning Documents: Maintaining organised paper and digital filing systems for operational documentation
  • Managing Material Certificates: Scanning, linking and issuing material certificates to the QA team
  • Generating Work Orders: Creating and processing work orders within the StruMis system
  • Updating Delivery Records: Recording receipt of deliveries and updating internal systems accurately
  • Preparing Traceability Reports: Collating and issuing material traceability documentation for production and QA purposes
  • Issuing Welding Documentation: Preparing associated welding documents for the QA department
  • Providing Multi-Site Support: Assisting with administration duties across multiple operational sites

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience in administration, production administration, document control or office support
  • Strong IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent organisation skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise workloads and meet department deadlines
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A flexible, proactive and professional approach with a positive work ethic
  • Ability to work methodically and independently when required
  • Strong numeracy, data entry and computer skills
  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • Experience within a manufacturing, production or engineering environment would be advantageous
