Job Overview
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Accounts Assistant Apprentice within a growing finance and administration team. This role combines hands-on finance support with structured study towards AAT Level 2. As an Accounts Assistant Apprentice you will assist with processing invoices, maintaining accurate financial records and supporting colleagues with queries. You will help keep systems updated and develop key skills in bookkeeping, reconciliations and customer service. The Accounts Assistant Apprentice role is ideal for someone organised, motivated and eager to learn, with a genuine interest in finance and administrative support.
Duties
- Supporting Customer and Supplier Setup: Verify and update account details
- Processing Orders and Invoices: Ensure correct coding and authorisation
- Creating Sales Invoices and Credit Notes: Produce accurate documentation
- Responding to Finance Queries: Provide information to colleagues and clients
- Managing Shared Inboxes: Monitor and reply to incoming emails
- Updating Systems: Maintain CRM records, finance software and communication tools
- Handling Queries: Assist customers, suppliers and colleagues by phone and face to face
- General Administration: File records, scan documents, support stock checks and maintain logs
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of 3 GCSEs Grade 5 or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English, ensuring competency in numeracy and clear written communication
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities
- Ability to meet study deadlines for AAT Level 2
- Able to work independently and collaboratively
- Proactive approach with willingness to learn
- Professional attitude with respect for confidentiality
- Competent using MS Office 365 including Word, Excel and Outlook
