A technically varied opportunity to support production with accurate manufacturing packs, drawings and practical engineering input across CNC machining work.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to take on varied, technically interesting work supporting the smooth transfer of jobs from Sales into Production. The Manufacturing Engineer will prepare clear manufacturing packs, resolve drawing and specification issues, and create 2D drawings and 3D models while supporting offline programming where required. With scope to influence estimating accuracy and manufacturing efficiency, the Manufacturing Engineer will play an important part in quality and on-time performance while continuing professional development.

DUTIES

  • Contract and Planning Review: Review contracts in team meetings and capture information from sales estimates and production planning
  • Material Specification Checks: Check incoming materials against specification and resolve discrepancies
  • Drawing and Tolerance Review: Identify and resolve missing or conflicting dimensional and tolerance information
  • Manufacturing Documentation: Produce complete shop-floor manufacturing packs, including ballooned drawings and feature lists
  • CAD/CAM Support: Create 2D drawings and 3D models and support offline programming where required
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to improving estimating accuracy and manufacturing efficiency

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Previous experience programming and operating CNC machines
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Able to use CAD CAM software
  • Strong attention to quality and accuracy

DESIRABLE

  • Experience setting and machining one-off fabrications, castings
  • Skills in inspection and measurement
