SALARY: From £45,000 per annum + Company Car + Benefits

LOCATION: Candidates need to be based in the South of England. This is a field-based role with regular travel to brand sites/stores (60–70%) across North England, London, Surrey and Berkshire. (Map will be provided at telephone interview stage)

An exciting opportunity offers broad influence across a growing multi-site operation, combining strategic people partnership with hands-on HR delivery. The HR Manager will work closely with senior HR and operational leaders to align people plans with business priorities.

The HR Manager will shape employee experience across recruitment, performance, engagement, retention and workforce planning, using people data to focus support where it adds most value.

Working across a fast-paced field environment, the HR Manager will coach managers, guide complex employee relations and support change, policy and continuous improvement while building a visible, trusted HR presence across sites.

DUTIES

Your duties as the HR Manager include:

  • HR Leadership and Business Partnership: Provide customer-focused HR advice and trusted partnership to operational leaders, supporting business strategy and brand-led people initiatives
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Build credible relationships across sites, operational teams and support functions, maintaining a structured HR presence aligned with business needs
  • People Data and Insight: Analyse HR KPIs, employee relations trends, turnover, absence, retention and engagement to identify priorities, root causes and targeted actions
  • People Strategy and Projects: Lead HR projects and continuous improvement across onboarding, apprenticeships, process automation, policies and procedures
  • Recruitment and Workforce Planning: Own recruitment for designated sites, support hiring best practice, workforce planning and bench planning, and help deliver a strong candidate experience
  • Manager Coaching and Capability: Coach managers to strengthen leadership capability, people management confidence and independent decision-making
  • Employee Relations and Compliance: Guide managers on employment law, policies and procedures, overseeing disciplinary and appeal hearings, employment tribunals, store closures and TUPE processes
  • Absence and Advisory Services: Manage absence proactively and work with outsourced HR advisory services to maintain responsive, compliant support
  • Performance, Engagement and Culture: Support pay reviews, performance management, inclusion, engagement, employee experience and retention initiatives
  • Business Review Reporting: Prepare people insights for business review meetings and work with internal teams, brand counterparts and external service providers

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Minimum CIPD Level 5
  • Full, clean UK driving licence and flexibility to travel
  • Proven HR experience in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
  • Proven capability managing high-volume and complex employee relations matters
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law, with the ability to interpret and apply legislation in a commercial environment
  • Data analysis and reporting skills with sound commercial judgement and data-driven decision-making
  • Strong literacy, numeracy and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Confident, clear and concise written and verbal communication across varied stakeholder groups
  • Accountability, initiative, agility, adaptability, strategic influencing, a solution-focused approach and the ability to drive change
  • Full right to work in the UK without restrictions - No sponsorship available

DESIRABLE

  • Experience in food, retail or FMCG environments
  • Experience working with external stakeholders and brand partners
