Field Service Engineer / Maintenance Technician
A hands-on opportunity to service, repair and install mobility equipment across Scotland, focused on the Central Belt.
All Levels of Experience Considered
Applications from both experienced engineers and motivated newcomers are welcome. Candidates with a background in field service, maintenance or installation will be offered a salary at the higher end of the range.
Practical problem-solvers with a full UK driving licence, who are new to the industry, will receive full manufacturer and in-house training to build their skills and confidence.

SALARY: £29,000 to £35,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Benefits
LOCATION: Field-Based - working across the Central Belt of Scotland
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday, 08:30am – 5:30pm, with overtime available as required. Flexibility is needed to meet business demands, including occasional emergency callouts.

This is a strong opportunity for a practical problem-solver to build a field-based technical career with full training. The Field Service Engineer / Maintenance Technician supports customers in homes across Scotland, focused on the Central Belt.
Working from a company van, the Field Service Engineer / Maintenance Technician diagnoses faults, services, repairs and installs stairlifts, hoists, ramps and orthopaedic beds, aiming for a first-visit solution.
The Field Service Engineer / Maintenance Technician works independently after training, keeps accurate PDA records and van stock, and provides professional customer service.

DUTIES
Your duties as the Field Service Engineer / Maintenance Technician include:
- Equipment Service, Repair and Installation: Service, repair, install and assess mobility and healthcare equipment in customers’ homes across Scotland, with a strong focus on the Central Belt
- Fault Finding and Callout Response: Attend callouts, diagnose faults and rectify issues independently or with support during training, working towards a high first-time fix rate
- Lift Servicing and Refurbishment: Carry out lift servicing, repairs, installations and refurbishments
- Job Records and PDA Updates: Complete job records accurately using a PDA
- Van Stock Control: Monitor and maintain van stock levels
- Health and Safety: Maintain high health and safety standards at all times
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience in an accounting role with accounts, finance or bookkeeping responsibilities
- Good numerical competence and strong attention to detail
- Confident Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work effectively as part of a team
ESSENTIAL
- Full UK driving licence
- Practical, hands-on ability and confidence using tools
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Confidence using Android devices and basic IT
- Self-motivated, organised and reliable
- Flexibility to work overtime and out-of-hours callouts
- Right to work in the UK
DESIRABLE
- Previous experience as a field engineer, service engineer, maintenance engineer or installation technician
- Background in mechanical, electrical or mobility equipment maintenance
