About the Company
Our client provides Physical and Electronic Security Solutions to the UK's major utility companies and partners, including Critical National Infrastructure Facilities, Electricity Transmission and Distribution, Power Stations, Wind Farms, Gas Transmission and Distribution Facilities and LNG Regasification and Storage Facilities, while developing in wider sectors.
Due to new projects they are looking to recruit a talented Civils CAD Technician.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, produce, develop and amend drawings in accordance with appropriate standards and procedures and in line with the agreed timescales and deadlines.
- Draw and develop site layouts and GA drawings, steel structure drawings, block diagrams, single line diagrams, cable routing and wiring diagrams, assembly and part drawings and associated schedules.
- Provide technical support to on‑site technicians.
- Revise drawings and red‑line markups appropriately.
- Liaise and communicate effectively with stakeholders across various teams and discipline groups and across various projects.
- Be proactive in streamlining and automating drawing and engineering processes and propose improvement ideas.
- Attend occasional site surveys.
- Key Skills
- HNC/HND/BTEC in Engineering (Civils).
- Experience in reinforced concrete (RC) detailing.
- Knowledge of surveying techniques and handling site survey data.
- Experience using 3D scanner technology and cloud point manipulation (preferable).
- Knowledge of HV/LV distribution systems and electrical building systems (preferable).
- Experience in Security, Access Control and CCTV & Alarm Systems (preferable).
- A good knowledge of civil engineering design principles.
- At least 5 years’ experience in Auto CAD / Auto CAD Civil 3D / Micro Station.
- Experience in 3D modelling software (Autodesk Revit preferable).
- Proficient in producing intelligent library blocks with attributes for data extraction.
- Proficient in CAD data file management and drawing management procedures.
- Good attention to detail, working in a fast‑paced environment.
- Competent Microsoft Office user.
- Full driving licence.
