Our client is currently looking for a Cable Jointer to join the team to cover Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas.

Are you a skilled and motivated Cable Jointer looking to join a dynamic team? If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and want to make a significant impact, this is the opportunity for you!

You will use manuals, asset standards, and technical information to assist with installations and remedial works. You will work hands-on with high voltage switchgear, transformers, and other equipment, and you will install earthing systems and outdoor gear like bus bars, disconnectors, and switchgear.

Safety is a top priority, so you will work according to our safety systems and permit to work systems. You will need to be adaptable, responding to unpredicted events and planning effectively without supervision.

You will work both independently and as part of a team, mentoring and coaching less experienced staff and apprentices to help them grow. We are looking for someone who is always eager to learn new skills and stay updated with the latest industry standards.

Skills & Experience

  • NVQ Level 3 in an Electrical discipline or completed an approved Apprenticeship
  • Ability to act as a competent person to receive safety documentation
  • Experience in terminating Inner Cone and T-Boot cable terminations
  • Experience in installing Indoor / Outdoor Raychem 11kV/33kV terminations
  • Experience in Jointing XLPE to XLPE / XLPE to PILC 11kV / 33kV cable Joints
  • Experience in dressing and cleating above ground terminations
  • Valid clean UK driving licence – this role requires you to travel across sites in Hertfordshire & surrounding counties
