Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Leeds

AWC Staff Services is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer/Shift Engineer to work with their client on the Leeds, St James’ Hospital Maintenance Team.

Role

This is a shift position consisting of 4 days and 4 nights, with 4 days off in between. The role involves maintaining, servicing and repairing a wide range of building services:

• Heating and domestic water services
• General electrical services such as water and power
• Air handling units
• Low voltage electrical distribution systems and switchgear
• Emergency standby generating plant
• Fire alarm systems and emergency lighting
• Electrical control systems
• Building Management Systems

The post is suited for a qualified time-served engineer with a minimum of 3 years post‑apprenticeship experience. Healthcare experience is desirable but not essential; cross‑trade experience is advantageous.

Start Date & Duration

Start: 23rd November 2025
Duration: 3–4 months (potentially longer)

Rate

£15 – £17 per hour, DOE
