AWC Staff Services are looking for a Commissioning Engineer on a Permanent basis to join their client in Hertfordshire as part of their Distribution and Connections Team. As one of the largest Independent Connection Providers (ICP’s) in the UK, we support distribution network operations across infrastructure. You'll be part of our substation build team working on UKPN's 11kV, 33kV & 132kV Distribution Network on projects across the East of England. Your role will be to test and commission high‑voltage plant and apparatus onto the live distribution network, integrating with existing protection schemes. Requires a full driver’s licence and willingness to travel across multiple sites.
What will you be doing?
- You’ll attend client meetings, encourage innovation, and resolve design issues on site.
- Your role includes producing commissioning plans, testing and commissioning high‑voltage plant and apparatus, and ensuring compliance with current legislation.
- You’ll also review and correct drawings, manage people safely, and mentor team members to enhance their technical knowledge.
What You’ll Bring
