Your Mission

As our new Associate Software Engineer, your mission is to support the development of intuitive, high-quality user experiences and the services that power them. You’ll contribute to building and evolving systems that manage property content and customer reviews, helping ensure our platforms are engaging, reliable, and scalable for guests, property owners, and internal teams.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Build and deliver front-end solutions that power property content and review experiences across our platforms
  • Contribute to the development of supporting APIs and services, with opportunities to grow into full-stack responsibilities
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver high-quality, user-focused features
  • Work with modern technologies including TypeScript, AWS (Lambda, containerised services), and Docker
  • Support and improve engineering practices such as CI/CD, testing, and observability
  • Monitor and maintain system health using tools such as New Relic and other observability platforms
  • Participate in team ceremonies, pair/mob programming, and knowledge sharing
  • Take part in operating the systems you build, ensuring performance, reliability, and a great user experience

Who We’re Looking For

You’ll thrive in this role if you’re passionate about building great user experiences, eager to learn, and motivated by solving real-world problems in a collaborative environment. We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • Around 12+ months of experience building web applications (front-end or full stack)
  • Experience or familiarity with TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • An interest in learning backend concepts (APIs, data handling, services) as you grow
  • Some exposure to deploying applications or working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub, GitHub Actions)
  • An understanding of modern engineering practices like testing, pairing, and iterative delivery
  • A collaborative, curious, and proactive approach to learning and delivering value

Bonus points if you have experience or curiosity around:

  • AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Codex, Claude Code)
  • Monitoring/observability tools (e.g., New Relic)
  • Containerisation (Docker)
