Description
About the job
What we do is simple – we send people on holiday, and who doesn’t love that? But we couldn’t do it without our park owners, the people who provide the setting for your perfect getaway. This role would see you working with a team finding the next parks and owners to join our amazing brand.
About Awaze
We’re home to some of the world’s most trusted travel brands, including cottages.com, Hoseasons and Novasol (to name just a few!). Together, these brands make us the largest managed vacation rental business in the world. We’re proud to have over 100,000 properties in our portfolio, in 25 countries across Europe, giving our guests the choice of a fantastic range of properties and taking over 1.5 million bookings each year.
We’re in a genuinely exciting period of growth, with one simple vision – to delight our owners and guests.
The Role
This role is for ambitious, target driven and commercially aware individuals who have a passion for product. You will personally support the delivery of the Awaze UK growth plans through the recruitment of new Lodge and Holiday park locations in line with the targets set, monthly, quarterly, and annually. You will be an advocate and ambassador for all things Awaze UK (and brands that fall within) and passionately sell the business and its portfolio of brands to prospective new owners and third parties. You will also be an ambassador for the company within the UK holiday sector, sourcing, building and maintaining strong strategic relationships with holiday park operators, owners and third party suppliers.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll have responsibility for adding to our extensive portfolio working across a wide spectrum of owners from small landowners to high level corporates and private equity firms. It’s key that you can build a strong relationship based on trust and honesty, so that you can provide an excellent service.
You’ll need to be professional within your approach and comfortable in arranging site visits to encourage new partners and owners to join our journey.
It will be your role to make sure you are advising potential owners of the best ways to enhance the performance of their investments, whether this is through making sure they’re being presented in the right way, that we will promoting them correctly or that we’re marketing them efficiently, which you’ll do by working with a range of internal stakeholders. You’ll be encouraged to use your creativity to get the best results, so this role presents that amazing mix of creativity and commerciality, where you will see how your ideas make a real difference to our metrics, which you’ll demonstrate to the wider business through weekly, monthly and quarterly reports. You’ll know exactly how your parks are performing, due to both anecdotal and numerical evidence and will constantly be on the lookout for the next owner to join us.
Put simply, you’ll be responsibility for contracting all accommodation types within our portfolio.
Key Skills We Need
You’ll be joining a genuinely passionate and ambitious team, with a real desire to be the best at what they do. Our park owners are incredibly important to us, and you’ll be in the spotlight when it comes to making sure we have the right number of units to sell.
- Things that would make you a success in this role include:
- Your communication skills are second to none
- You pride yourself on your ability to build rapport
- We’re looking for someone who is never satisfied – you’re always looking for ways to find the next uncovered gem.
- You believe that knowledge is power, so you’re constantly on the lookout for the next industry event to attend, or you’re looking at what our competitors are doing
- You’re comfortable working with analytical tools
- You’re driven by targets
- You’ve got excellent stakeholder management skills
- You’re passionate about travel and, in particular, UK holidays
- Ideally, you’ll have an extensive network of operators and third-party suppliers with the region
- Ideally, you’ll have had some experience of working within leisure/travel
Equally as important as all the technical “stuff”, we’re looking for someone who is hungry to learn, irrespective of their seniority. We don’t believe in standing still (we work in travel, after all), but instead think that everyone should be learning, all the time. Whether it’s a new analytical tool, an industry event or a mentoring opportunity, we will support you to grow your skillset.
If you’re excited by working in a fast paced environment, are obsessed by all things customer and want to join us on our journey, we’d love to chat.
What we’ll give you
This is an opportunity for you to join us at a pivotal point in time as we invest in our future
- You’ll be supported by a team of genuine, passionate leaders
- We work cross-functionally, so you’ll be given opportunities to develop skills outside of your core skillset.
- You’ll be an integral part of a team which delivers great commercial results, and who doesn’t want that?
We offer a competitive salary and great benefits; we’re all about holidays, so we practise what we preach and offer some great travel discounts and a range of other perks.
What else do you need to know?
We want to make the application process as stress-free as possible, so typically we’ll have an informal chat with you on the phone, followed by a comprehensive interview over Teams, where you’ll have a chance to find out a bit more about the exciting things we’re doing (and maybe tell us what we’re doing wrong). We want to hear about what makes you tick and why.
We are an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity and inclusion. We do not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, age, sexual orientation, colour, religion, disability status or marital status.
