Away That Day is looking for a Maternity Cover Production Manager for a one-year contract starting at the end of June to lead the Production Team with 3 collections a year. The company is poised for growth and this role is pivotal to develop and widen the product offering. This new role will include close collaboration with the Founder/Creative Director plus the Designers and Merchandising Manager. The team is small but mighty, so this role requires a “doer” and a multitasker.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Critical Path set up and management
  • Business gatekeeper: Collaborate closely with all departments throughout the design and production cycle.
  • Factory and supplier sourcing, onboarding, capacity planning, auditing and annual reviews
  • All supplier relations, communication and negotiations
  • Cost price and margin in collaboration with Merchandising
  • Oversight of all PO’s
  • Sample delivery in line with the critical path
  • Sourcing of fabrics and trims in conjunction with Design
  • Production budgeting, costs and forecasting
  • Supporting Finance in anticipating costs, supplier invoices and cash flow
  • Gatekeeper for sustainability
  • Coordination and management of the Production Team.
  • Product testing and compliance

Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum 7 – 10 years’ experience in working in a busy product-based RTW production role including recent managing experience.
  • Swimwear experience preferable.
  • Experience of measuring, advising on fit, construction and quality issues
  • Experience working with factories/ suppliers based in the UK, Europe and Far East
  • A passion for production.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize.
  • Excellent knowledge of Google Sheets and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Zedonk and Adobe Package experience ideal.
  • Proactive with problem solving skills and strong attention to detail
  • Outstanding communication skills both externally and at all levels internally.
  • Willing to adapt and take on new challenges and driven to continually improve.
  • Enthusiastic, self-confident and self-motivated.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience of startup/small company culture and dynamic
