About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Health & Safety Administrator to support the effective management of health, safety, and compliance activities across the business. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate records, coordinating safety-related administration, and assisting in promoting a positive safety culture throughout the organisation. The successful candidate will have excellent administrative skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with managers and colleagues at all levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update health and safety records, databases, and documentation.
  • Support the administration of risk assessments, safe systems of work, and safety procedures.
  • Monitor training records.
  • Assist with the reporting, recording, and investigation administration of incidents, accidents, and near misses.
  • Ensure health and safety policies, procedures, and notices are communicated and kept up to date.
  • Manage documentation relating to contractors, permits, and certifications.
  • Liaise with managers and external agencies where required.
  • Assist with preparation for audits and regulatory inspections.
  • General administrative duties to support the Health & Safety function.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in an administrative role.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage confidential information appropriately.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.

Desirable Requirements

  • Previous experience within a Health & Safety or compliance-related environment.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and best practices.
  • IOSH Working Safely or similar Health & Safety qualification.
  • Experience using safety management systems or compliance software.
