What we need in a nutshell:

We want our guests to have a whale of a time down at the pool. As Assistant Leisure Manager, you will make this happen by ensuring the hygiene and safety of the pool and leading a team of qualified lifeguards.

Who are we?

We are a dynamic and growing company, shaking up the Great British holiday. At our amazing UK resorts we pull out all the stops and add the bells and whistles to give our guests the holiday of a lifetime. Newquay Bay Resort is the perfect location for seaside adventures in Cornwall, mixed with the tranquillity of a country getaway.

This peaceful valley setting on the breath‑taking North Coast offers a brisk breeze of open air, heavenly seafood restaurants, and next‑level water‑sports. We need you to be the person who delivers delight – and safety – when our guests are splashing about at the pool.

The nitty gritty of what you’ll be doing:

  • Manage the poolside team
  • Look after everyone’s safety
  • Keep the whole area clean and hygienic
  • Ensure that we’re meeting our legal requirements
  • Be incredibly friendly and answer guests’ questions
  • ‘Muck in’ when you need to

One more thing … holidays happen at holiday times, so you will need to work your magic on bank holidays too.

Skills, experience and qualities you’ll need:

  • A current NPNQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification)
  • Great interpersonal skills – you’ll need to be assertive as well as friendly
  • Proven leadership skills

It’s about your values too. We have a can‑do, fun‑loving, people‑centred ethos here at Away Resorts, which is captured by our holiday heroes’ mantra of Attentive Amazing Lovers.

If that’s fired up your curiosity, read more about it here and decide if it describes you. If your application is successful, you’ll have to apply for an Enhanced DBS. We need to be happy that this, together with other information we may request, is all in order before you can join the team.

Nice to have but not essential:

  • NPMQ (National Pool Management Qualification)
  • Experience in the hospitality sector

What we can offer you:

  • Up to 50% Discounts on Away Resorts holidays
  • 20% On‑park discounts
  • Team Incentives
  • Holiday Hero Menu
  • Life Insurance
  • Enhanced Maternity/Paternity Pay
  • Holiday Buy Scheme
  • Help @ Hand Scheme
  • Career Development
