What we need in a nutshell:
We need someone who can lead and inspire a busy kitchen team; someone who understands that food is central to a happy holiday. Someone who is driven, passionate about delivering standards, and enjoys the camaraderie of teamwork is essential for this role. We get busy, but we never forget why we love what we do.
Someone who can lead through our teams, engage them, and set attainable goals; someone that finds solutions to problems and communicates well with both management and supporting team members. You will need to be resilient, used to high pace/high volume, but someone that thrives under pressure and manages to keep their head and help those that need support, even in the busiest of shifts.
Who we are:
We are a very busy pub in the New Forest that prides itself on delivering great food to our guests quickly. We drive high volume, and even higher volume in our peak summer months, but we work together and always keep a positive attitude. Being a holiday park, we have a diversity of guests coming through our doors, but our standards never change. We offer a classic menu with a few twists to reflect the tastes of all that visit our parks.
Being the main F&B destination on site, we serve food from 9am through to 9pm, with a variety of shift types available, but never a split (unless requested!) or an all day.
What you’ll be doing:
- You will be in the thick of the action with your team, ensuring that meals are prepped, cooked, and served to our exacting standards, from the simplest salad to the seasonal specials.
- Assuming responsibility for consistent and prompt food preparation and ensuring all our meals meet our high standards.
- Helping the team to comply with agreed specifications of all dishes, ensuring correct portion sizes are followed and waste is closely managed.
- Ensuring safe, clean, hygienic, and tidy workspaces within the kitchen, always complying with all food hygiene and safety regulations.
- Helping to control food margins through effective stock management, knowledge of product specifications, and team coaching.
- Holidays happen at holiday times, so you’ll need to work your magic on bank holidays and weekends too.
Skills, experience and qualities you’ll need:
- 1-2 years’ experience working as a line cook, commis chef, or chef de partie.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Good organisation skills and able to identify and solve problems.
- A real passion for food, and bags of enthusiasm.
- Resilience under pressure.
- It’s the icing on the cake if you have kitchen experience on a busy holiday park and you have experience of supervising others.
What we can offer you:
- Up to 50% Discounts on Away Resorts holidays – because you deserve amazing getaways too.
- 20% On-park discounts – Enjoy the best of what we offer.
- Team Incentives – Your hard work won’t go unnoticed.
- Holiday Hero Menu – Enjoy delicious meals with discounted food options on-park.
- Help @ Hand Scheme – Wellbeing support when you need it.
- Career Development – We believe in nurturing talent and promoting from within.
Our promise to you:
Holiday Heroes come with all sorts of different super-powers, and we welcome them all! After all, wouldn’t it be boring if we were all the same? We embrace diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities. We love that everyone comes from different backgrounds, allowing us to grow and inspire each other. We’ll never accept any form of discrimination and we’ll forever strive, not just for our product to be unique, but our people too. In short, we want you to bring your whole self to work!
