About the role
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Kitchen Manager to lead our food service operation in one of our amazing venues. During peak seasons, our kitchens serve a high volume of guests, so strong leadership, organisation, and food quality standards are essential.
The Propeller Bar and Restaurant is a stylish, full-service à la carte dining experience that brings a vibrant Mediterranean flair to the heart of the resort. From hand-stretched pizzas and fresh pastas to succulent steaks, every dish is crafted with passion and flair—perfect for guests craving something a little more special. Open for lunch and dinner with bookings recommended, Propeller offers an elevated and relaxed atmosphere, complete with stunning lakeside views that make every shift feel like a getaway. Whether you’re serving up flavour or working behind the scenes, it’s a sleek, social, and fast-paced environment where great food and good vibes go hand in hand.
A can-do attitude, attention to detail and excellent people skills are essential. Being available to work evenings and weekends including bank holidays are also essential.
What you will be doing
We need someone who understands that a first-class guest experience is an essential part of their stay at Tattershall Lakes. Here are some of the things you will be doing:
- Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations
- Ensure the kitchen runs efficiently during peak holiday periods
- Managing the shift and team in the kitchen
- Work closely with the front-of-house team and park management
- Coaching and training your team
- Working as part of a team you will be responsible for food preparation and cooking.
- Ensuring presentation of menu items to a high standard.
- Adhering to operational cleanliness and food hygiene and food safety compliance
- Supporting team members to help them be the best they can be
- Manage stock ordering, stock takes
- Complying with all the legal requirements
And who knows what else you may find yourself doing. If you are happy to help even when it is ‘not your job,’ you are our sort of person.
Skills, experience, and qualities you will need
We have high standards! We will train you up, but it would be nice if you had:
- Experience in a role as a Head Chef, Kitchen Manager or Senior Sous Chef
- Passion for food and delivering excellent service
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
- Ability to think on your feet and deal with problems
- Experience with stock control and working to a budget
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
It’s about your values too. We have a can-do, fun loving, people centred ethos here at Away Resorts, which is captured by our holiday heroes’ mantra of Attentive Amazing Lovers – if that’s fired up your curiosity, have a read about it here and decide if it describes you.
Nice to have but not essential
It would be great if you tick some of these boxes too (but we will not hold it against you if you don’t).
- Level 2 or 3 food hygiene qualification
- Experience of working in the holiday sector
What we can offer you
Enjoy some great benefits, including:
- Regular incentives and rewards
- Discounted holidays across all our parks
Our Promise to You
Holiday Heroes come with all sorts of different super-powers, and we welcome them all!
We embrace diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities. From our investors to our teams we love that everyone comes from different backgrounds, allowing us to grow and inspire each other. We’ll never accept any form of discrimination, and we’ll forever strive not just for our product to be unique but our people too. Afterall, wouldn’t it be boring if we were all the same? In short, we want to bring your whole self to work!
