What you’ll be doing:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial and supplier contracts
- Supporting operational and central teams with day-to-day legal queries
- Translating legal risk into clear, practical advice for non-legal colleagues
- Managing disputes and claims proportionately and commercially
- Assisting with regulatory and compliance matters, including consumer-facing issues
- Supporting ESG related initiatives, policies and reporting obligations
- Working efficiently using templates, playbooks and agreed processes
- Contributing to improvements in how legal work is prioritised, tracked and delivered
- Operating confidently within agreed risk parameters
- Creating a working atmosphere that embraces everyone
Skills, experience and qualities you’ll need:
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with approximately 2–3 years’ PQE
- Strong commercial private practice background with some in-house exposure, or already working in-house within a lean team
- Comfortable dealing directly with business stakeholders
- Experience or interest in legal operations, process improvement or building efficient ways of working would be an advantage
- Be clear and practical in how you communicate advice
- Be organised and comfortable handling a varied workload
- Be comfortable balancing risk and pragmatism in an operational environment
