What you’ll be doing
You will manage and inspire the kitchen team to produce high-quality meals. Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing food preparation and related activities
- Ensuring consistency and quality of dishes before they reach customers
- Planning equipment and ingredient orders, managing stock and minimizing wastage
- Addressing and resolving any issues or defects
- Managing and training kitchen staff
- Supervising the kitchen team’s work
- Optimizing team workload for efficiency and standards
- Ensuring compliance with food hygiene, licensing, and safety regulations
You will lead by example, setting high standards and motivating your team through coaching and support. Please note, due to the nature of the role, you will work during bank holidays, evenings, and weekends.
Skills, experience, and qualities you’ll need
Are you dynamic, determined, and enthusiastic? Do you excel at creating memorable guest experiences and leading a team? Essential qualities include:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with customers and team members
- Experience managing workload under pressure during busy periods
- Commercial awareness and experience working in a commercial environment
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations, auditing, and team compliance
- Excellent leadership skills to develop a high-performing team and oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including P&L, yields, standards, and legal compliance
- NVQ and relevant food hygiene certificates
