What we are looking for

We’re looking for an experienced food and beverage professional to support the Food & Beverage Manager on our busiest holiday park. Someone who has the drive to take our Food and Beverage operation and make it a commercial and critical success through creative thinking and practical and diligent implementation. A can-do attitude, attention to detail and excellent people skills are essential. Being available to work evenings and weekends including bank holidays are also essential.

Bar 49 is our skyline bar. The venue boasts breath-taking views across our water-ski lake. Our goal is to celebrate the local area and Lincolnshire as a county through our beverage offering, a selection of hand-crafted cocktails and magical milkshakes will feature on the menu. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a genuine passion for cocktails and delivering a first-class bar service.

What you’ll be doing

Working as part of our team of Holiday Heroes, you will be supporting the Food & Beverage Manager and making sure that our guests experience the best possible time with us. This includes:

  • Leading, training, and motivating a team to deliver delight.
  • Overseeing the smooth running of the venue, the preparation for service, as well as overseeing service and supervising the after-service duties.
  • Working alongside the team in a fast paced, high-volume venue with a constant eye on delivering world class service.
  • Driving revenue through service and sales whilst having an eye on profitable growth, delivered with care and flair.
  • Controlling margin through careful stock management and stock reconciliation through weekly stocktakes.
  • Supporting and standing in for the Food and Beverage Manager.

One more thing…holidays happen at holiday times and eating, and drinking goes on into the night, so you’ll need to work your magic on bank holidays, evenings, and weekends too.

Skills, experience, and qualities you’ll need

We have high standards! We’ll train you up, but you must:

  • Have previous management experience in a Food & Beverage environment.
  • Show evidence of your superb people management skills.
  • Have an eye for detail, a head for business and a mindset for innovation.
  • Have knowledge and experience of catering and its many challenges.
  • Have energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.

Nice to have but not essential

It would be great if you tick some of these boxes too (but we will not hold it against you if you don’t):

  • Know your profit and loss from your balance sheet and be able to control costs and grow profit.
  • Level 2 in Food safety.
  • Personal licence.
  • Experience of working in the holiday sector.

It’s about your values too. We have a can-do, fun loving, people centred ethos here at Away Resorts, which is captured by our holiday heroes’ mantra of Attentive Amazing Lovers – if that’s fired up your curiosity, have a read about it here and decide if it describes you.

Want to join our team? Here’s how to apply:

If you’re new to our website, we’ll prompt you to register. If you’ve already registered, you can simply log in. Then complete your details and send us your best version of you. That could be a vlog, blog or a Snapchat story; it could be a good old CV – if it is a CV, make sure you add a note or covering letter to say why you’re the one for the job. It’s up to you what you say and how you say it; whatever makes you feel good and tells your story best.

Our promise to you

Holiday Heroes come with all sorts of different super-powers, and we welcome them all! After all, wouldn’t it be boring if we were all the same? We embrace diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities. We love that everyone comes from different backgrounds, allowing us to grow and inspire each other. We’ll never accept any form of discrimination, and we’ll forever strive, not just for our product to be unique, but our people too. In short, we want to bring your whole self to work!

Good Luck!
