What we need in a nutshell:
Are you a people person, passionate about keeping others safe? Join us as a Park Safety Assistant where guest safety and security are your priority. You’ll be a keen observer, making sure our guests feel safe and secure in their home away from home. You’ll need to hold a current driving licence and preferably a current SIA Door Supervisor licence, but this is not essential. This is not a typical park safety role. It’s much better! Based at the beautiful location of our Retallack Resort and Spa, you will be keeping our holidaymakers secure as well as helping them out when they need assistance. We need you to deliver delight by being the person our holiday makers can rely upon out of hours, keeping them safe and being there when they need help.
Who we are?
Away Resorts is a dynamic and growing company, shaking up the Great British holiday at our award-winning UK resorts. Retallack Resort and Spa is a luxury spa resort and a lively watersports hub, wrapped up in a stunning countryside location close to the North Cornish coast.
What you’ll be doing:
This position is for late evenings/ night shift work. You will be working as part of our security/park safety team of holiday heroes, who ensure the park is secure and safe at night. You will be a reassuring presence for guests, and you’ll be there in an emergency. It’s a varied and exciting job with responsibilities that include:
- Welcoming guests into our park after hours
- Patrolling the park by foot and vehicle, ensuring the perimeters are secure and all is well within the park.
- Helping guests with out-of-hours problems such as maintenance, accommodation, or guest services
- Always maintain a security presence onsite, being vigilant, proactive, and responsive
- Respond to all emergency calls
- Provide on-site information and local information to the team and customers
You will greet customers professionally and assist with customer enquiries and maintain a safe, secure environment for all our guests. You will be required to complete patrol logs and report all potential accidents and incidents as well as respond to any alarm calls – first aid, fire etc. You will need to be vigilant in taking appropriate action in and reporting any suspicious circumstances. And who knows what else you may find yourself doing. As long as you’re happy to help even when it’s ‘not your job,’ you’re our sort of person. One more thing…holidays happen at holiday times, so you will need to work your magic on bank holidays and weekends too throughout the holiday season.
Skills, experience, and qualities you’ll need:
This is a great role for the right person, and we will provide full on site training and induction, so lots of experience is not as important as the right attitude. The only ‘must-haves’ are:
- Full Driving Licence
- Customer service skills – we want someone who is friendly and cheerful to our guests.
- Physically fit as the job requires a lot of moving around the park on foot
What can we offer you:
Enjoy some great benefits, including:
- Up to 50% Discounts on Away Resorts holidays – because you deserve amazing getaways too.
- 20% On-park discounts – Enjoy the best of what we offer.
- Team Incentives – Your hard work won’t go unnoticed.
- Holiday Hero Menu – Enjoy delicious meals with discounted food options on-park.
- Life Insurance – For peace of mind.
- Enhanced Maternity/Paternity Pay – After two years with us, we’ve got you covered.
- Help @ Hand Scheme – Wellbeing support when you need it.
- Career Development – We believe in nurturing talent and promoting from within
Our Promise to You:
