Location:Gara Rock Hotel, East Portlemouth, near Kingsbridge, TQ8 8FA

Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum- DOE

Hours:Permanent, 40 hours per a week

We are Gara Rock, a Boutique Hotel and Restaurant perched on a clifftop right on the South West Coast path and just across the water from Salcombe.

What You\’ll Be Doing

As Assistant Restaurant & Bar Manager, you\’ll work closely with the restaurant manager, to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the restaurant, terrace, bar, and in-room dining. You\’ll lead by example, mentor a team of F&B assistants, and help ensure every guest leaves with a smile.

This includes:

  • Oversee the smooth running of the bar and restaurant, the preparation for service, as well as overseeing service and supervising the after-service duties.

  • To supervise & manage the Restaurant team in line with company policies, this includes daily and weekly staff briefings within the team

  • Dealing with customer complaints and managing performance within your team

  • Ensure menu training is carried out as per release of new menus

  • To ensure good working relationship with all other departments and communicate information throughout the hotel.
  • To assist the wedding & events manager in any wedding or events
  • Ensure effective control of stock
  • Managing rotas so that we always have the right level of cover
  • Identifying and sharing best practice with team, including upselling effectively
  • Handle deliveries and ensure health and safety regulations are always enforced

One more thing…holidays happen at holiday times, so you\’ll need to work your magic on bank holidays and weekends too.
