What we need in a nutshell
We’re looking for an Event and Sales Lead to build on the commercial opportunities and generate business leads for running first class events at Piperdam.
Who are we?
We’re a dynamic and growing company, shaking up the Great British holiday at our award-winning UK resorts. Guests at our Lincolnshire parks enjoy a huge variety of exciting facilities and events which set us apart from our competitors.
What you’ll be doing
You will be maximising our opportunities for running events at our parks, from charity balls and tea dances to wedding celebrations and family parties. This includes:
- Bringing in new events and managing and maintaining existing events
- Cultivating long-lasting, robust relationships with local group organisers to build a calendar of regular events at each park
- Working with the Events and Sales Manager to oversee the logistics of successful events, working closely with colleagues from different departments and liaising with outside contractors
- Driving and improving the events proposition, focusing on the commercial returns of all events
- Driving local marketing activity by working closely with the Central Marketing Team
- Working with the Events and Sales Manager to manage and review budgets to maximise revenue and improve the profitability of events
Many of our events happen at holiday times, so you’ll need to work your magic on bank holidays and weekends too.
Skills, experience and qualities you’ll need
If you can demonstrate the following, let's hear from you:
- A good level of general education and comfortable with IT, including MS Office
- Sales and Events or business development experience and an understanding of events management
- Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Evidence of team management skills and an ability to motivate and persuade people at all levels
- A creative, forward-thinking mindset
- Experience of achieving sales targets and budget management
It’s the icing on the cake, but not essential, if you have an NVQ or higher in Events Management, events sales experience, local knowledge and an existing network, and a wide-ranging knowledge of the events and function industry.
What we can offer you
This is an exciting and varied role, and it can also lead to great opportunities for career progression for you. We look after you with a great range of benefits, including:
- Bonus Scheme
- Life Insurance
- Discounts on Away Resorts Holidays
- On Park Discounts
- Awards and Recognition
- Free Gym and Golf Membership
