What we need in a nutshell:

We need someone who can lead and inspire a busy kitchen team; someone who understands that food is central to a happy holiday. Someone who is driven, passionate about delivering standards, and enjoys the camaraderie of teamwork is essential for this role. We get busy, but we never forget why we love what we do. You will need to be resilient, used to high pace/high volume, and thrive under pressure while helping those that need support, even in the busiest of shifts.

Who we are:

We are a very busy pub in the New Forest that prides itself on delivering great food to our guests quickly. We drive high volume, especially in our peak summer months, but we work together and always keep a positive attitude. Being a holiday park, we have a diversity of guests coming through our doors, but our standards never change. We offer a classic menu with a few twists to reflect the tastes of all that visit our parks. Being the main F&B destination on site, we serve food from 9am through to 9pm, with a variety of shift types available, but never a split (unless requested!) or an all day.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Manage and inspire the kitchen team to produce brilliant meals to our high standards.
  • Attaining and implementing standards.
  • Ensure consistency of quality of dishes before they reach the customer.
  • Stock management – ordering, specs, and stock takes.
  • Assist the Kitchen Manager in team training and recruitment.
  • Rota writing and onboarding.
  • Implementation of all legislative measures and administration required by the current Food Hygiene, licensing, and collaboration and respect across the team.

You will lead from the front, setting the standards for your team and motivating, coaching, and supporting them to be outstanding. One more thing…holidays happen at holiday times, and eating and drinking goes on into the night, so you’ll need to work your magic on bank holidays, evenings, and weekends too.

Skills, experience and qualities you’ll need:

  • Dynamic, determined, and enthusiastic.
  • Thrive on providing memorable guest experiences and want to be part of a great team.
  • Communication skills by listening to customers, engaging and building rapport with your team, and dealing with challenging people and situations.
  • Experience of working under pressure, including managing a workload at busy times.
  • An ability to build commercial awareness and experience of working in a commercial environment.
  • Knowledge of working with regulations such as health & safety, auditing, and ensuring colleagues understand them.
  • Great leadership skills and the ability to build a high performing team to control, develop, and improve all aspects of the kitchen including P&L, yields, people, standards, legal compliance, service, and brand integrity.
  • An NVQ and relevant food hygiene certificates.

It’s about your values too. We have a can-do, fun-loving, people-centred ethos here at Away Resorts, captured by our holiday heroes’ mantra of Attentive Amazing Lovers.

Nice to have but not essential:

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced kitchen.

What we can offer you:

  • Up to 50% Discounts on Away Resorts holidays.
  • 20% On-park discounts.
  • Team Incentives.
  • Holiday Hero Menu.
  • Help @ Hand Scheme.
  • Career Development.

Our Promise to You:

Holiday Heroes come with all sorts of different super-powers, and we welcome them all! We embrace diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities. We’ll never accept any form of discrimination, and we’ll forever strive not just for our product to be unique but our people too. In short, we want to bring your whole self to work!
