What we need in a nutshell: We are looking for a capable and commercially minded Legal Counsel (c.2 PQE) to support the operational legal needs of the business. This is a broad, hands-on in-house role covering commercial contracts, disputes, compliance and ESG matters. Being trusted to take ownership of day to day issues and translating legal risk into clear, practical advice that enables commercial agility. Working closely with the General Counsel on higher risk or complex matters, you will be trusted to take ownership of your workload, partner directly with stakeholders and balance risk with pragmatism in a fast moving, service led business.
What you’ll be doing:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial and supplier contracts
- Supporting operational and central teams with day-to-day legal queries
- Translating legal risk into clear, practical advice for non-legal colleagues
- Managing disputes and claims proportionately and commercially
- Assisting with regulatory and compliance matters, including consumer facing issues
- Supporting ESG related initiatives, policies and reporting obligations
- Working efficiently using templates, playbooks and agreed processes
- Contributing to improvements in how legal work is prioritised, tracked and delivered
- Operating confidently within agreed risk parameters
