About the role
We are looking for a Kitchen Team Leader to join us in Spitfire Bar and Restaurant. The Spitfire Bar and Restaurant is the buzzing heart of the action—our largest and liveliest venue, serving up to 1,500 guests a day during peak times! With a fresh, made-in-house menu full of hearty pub classics, we keep the energy high from morning breakfast to late-night bites. But Spitfire is more than just great food—it’s a full-on entertainment hotspot, hosting bingo, live shows, and late-night fun. Fast-paced, vibrant, and always packed with personality, it’s the perfect place to work if you thrive in the hustle and love being where the buzz is!
A can-do attitude, attention to detail and excellent people skills are essential. Being available to work evenings and weekends including bank holidays are also essential.
What you will be doing
- Open up or close down of the kitchen
- Managing the shift and team in the kitchen
- Assisting the management team in coaching and training
- Working as part of a team you will be responsible for food preparation and cooking.
- Ensuring presentation of menu items to a high standard.
- Adhering to operational cleanliness and food hygiene
- Supporting team members to help them be the best they can be
- Ensuring restocking at the end of a shift
- Complying with all the legal requirements
And who knows what else you may find yourself doing. If you are happy to help even when it is ‘not your job,’ you are our sort of person.
Skills, experience, and qualities you will need
We have high standards! We will train you up, but it would be nice if you had:
- Experience in a role as a Chef de Partie, Kitchen team leader or something similar
- Passion for food and delivering excellent service
- Experience supervising a team
- Ability to think on your feet and deal with problems
- Experience with stock control and working to a budget
It’s about your values too. We have a can-do, fun loving, people centred ethos here at Away Resorts, which is captured by our holiday heroes’ mantra of Attentive Amazing Lovers – if that’s fired up your curiosity, have a read about it here and decide if it describes you.
Nice to have but not essential
It would be great if you tick some of these boxes too (but we will not hold it against you if you don’t).
- Level 2 or 3 food hygiene qualification
- Kitchen management or team leader experience
- Experience of working in the holiday sector
What we can offer you
Enjoy some great benefits, including:
- Regular incentives and rewards
- Discounted holidays across all our parks
We embrace diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities. From our investors to our teams we love that everyone comes from different backgrounds, allowing us to grow and inspire each other. We’ll never accept any form of discrimination, and we’ll forever strive not just for our product to be unique but our people too. After all, wouldn’t it be boring if we were all the same? In short, we want to bring your whole self to work!
