What we need in a nutshell:
We love creating exciting dining concepts across our locations and finding talented chefs to take them forward. In this Kitchen Team Leader role you will be preparing and cooking for a busy restaurant and helping to manage a team of Line Chefs, Kitchen Assistants and Kitchen porters.

Away Resorts are shaking up the industry and setting the new standards for what to expect from a UK Holiday Park. With 27 parks and resorts around the UK, our Parks are jaw dropping not only in its views but also what it offers our Guests. The Mill Rytheresort, set on a peaceful estuary, has undergone a stunning £10m refurbishment with our stunning cocktail bar, The Missing Squirrel! As well as our incredible new restaurant The Green Room.
You will be in the thick of the action with your team, ensuring that meals are prepped, cooked and served to our exacting standards, to deliver delight to our guests. This includes:
- Supporting the kitchen management team in overseeing all aspects of the Back of House (BOH) operation and being the main point of contact on shift
- Preparing and cooking meals with the assistance of Line Chefs and Kitchen Assistants and ensuring the team comply to the agreed specifications of all the dishes
- Helping to control food margins through effective stock management
- Championing and implementing health and safety and hygiene policies to ensure team and guest safety
- Identifying the development needs of team members and providing coaching and support to them
One more thing, holidays happen at holiday times, so you’ll need to work your magic on bank holidays and weekends too.
Skills, experience and qualities you’ll need:
We are looking for an enthusiastic team player with a real passion for food, who can demonstrate the following:
- At least Level Two Hygiene Certificate
- Experience of working as a chef in a busy, fast-paced kitchen
- Experience of stock control and ordering
- Exceptional communication and organisational skills
- An eye for detail and able to think on your feet
- Resilience under pressure
