About the role
We are looking for a Fryer to work at our Chips and Fish shop. You’ll be a key part of our team, helping to deliver delicious takeaway meals for our owners and guests. A can-do attitude, attention to detail and excellent people skills are essential. Being available to work evenings and weekends including bank holidays are also essential.
What you will be doing
We need someone who understands the importance of delivering consistency and quality in a fast-paced, retail catering environment. Here are some of the things you will be doing:
- The preparation and frying of a range of foods
- Managing the fry range and oil
- Maintaining Food Safety and Hygiene
- Prepping and cooking a quality Chip, from rumbling and chipping, storage and blanching to, most importantly, frying and delivering!
And who knows what else you may find yourself doing. If you are happy to help even when it is ‘not your job,’ you are our sort of person.
Skills, experience, and qualities you will need
We have high standards! We will train you up, but you must:
- Have a passion for food
- Relish the fast pace of a chip shop
- Be someone who does things without needing to be asked
- Be a people person; easy to talk to and never happy until your guests are
- Have experience of working in a team
It’s about your values too. We have a can-do, fun loving, people centred ethos here at Away Resorts, which is captured by our holiday heroes’ mantra of Attentive Amazing Lovers – if that’s fired up your curiosity, have a read about it here and decide if it describes you.
Nice to have but not essential
It would be great if you tick some of these boxes too (but we will not hold it against you if you don’t):
- Experience of working on a fry range
- Knowledge of oil management
- A knowledge of the science behind fish and chips
- Experience of working in the holiday sector
What we can offer you
We look after you with a great range of benefits, including:
- Discounts on Away Resorts Holidays
- On Park Discounts
- Awards and Recognition
