Role Description
This full-time hybrid Courier role is based in Cheltenham & Gloucester, with some flexibility for administrative tasks and route planning to be completed from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Collecting parcels and freight from designated depots
- Following planned delivery routes, and ensuring timely, accurate deliveries to residential and commercial customers
- The Courier is expected to handle packages safely, perform vehicle safety checks, maintain delivery records using handheld devices or apps
- Adhere to company performance and safety standards
The role also involves providing professional, courteous customer service at delivery points, responding to basic customer queries, and coordinating with the operations team on route changes, delays, or issues.
Qualifications
- Right to work in the UK; prior courier or delivery experience is an advantage but not required.
- Valid UK driving licence with a good driving record and confidence driving in urban and rural areas.
- Strong customer-facing skills, including Customer Service and effective communication with recipients and depot staff
- Exposure to Food & Beverage or other fast-paced service environments, demonstrating reliability, time management, and attention to detail
- Ability to lift and handle parcels of varying sizes safely, with good physical stamina
- Comfort using smartphones or handheld devices for navigation, delivery tracking, and communication
- Organised, punctual, and able to work independently while following company policies and KPI targets
