Are you an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor with UK construction experience looking to gain exposure to one of London’s most exciting regeneration projects? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly regarded London developer delivering a landmark mixed-use scheme in a prime South London location. The development will transform the local area, creating a vibrant new destination combining residential, student accommodation, commercial and community spaces within a major urban regeneration programme. The project will deliver circa 1,000 units across several high-rise RC frame towers, including buildings exceeding 30 storeys, alongside extensive public realm, landscaping, amenity spaces and supporting infrastructure.
The Opportunity
Working within an experienced commercial team and reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager, you will assist with the commercial delivery of major work packages while also taking ownership and responsibility for running your own packages from procurement through to final account. This role offers excellent exposure to a complex, large-scale project environment and provides a clear pathway for progression into a Project Quantity Surveyor position.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the commercial management of major packages from procurement through to final account
- Take ownership of and independently manage your own allocated packages
- Support tendering activities, subcontractor procurement and package comparisons
- Prepare and manage valuations, variations, cost reports and CVRs for your own packages, while assisting on larger packages
- Monitor project costs, forecasts and package budgets
- Manage subcontractor accounts and commercial administration for allocated packages
- Identify and flag commercial risks and opportunities
- Work closely with project, design, technical and operational teams
- Support accurate reporting and provide commercial input to senior team members
About You
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline
- 2+ years’ Quantity Surveying experience within the UK construction industry
- Residential, PBSA, mixed-use or regeneration project experience beneficial
- RC frame / high-rise experience desirable
- Experience managing smaller packages and supporting the delivery of larger packages
- Strong numerical, analytical and communication skills
- Proactive, organised and keen to progress within a developer environment
