AW Construction is a Folkestone-based commercial construction company delivering a broad range of projects across the South East. We specialise in strip out, refurbishment and fit-out works for clients including light industrial units, shopping centres, universities and housing associations. Our projects typically range in value from £25,000 to £2 million. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team, based at our Folkestone office.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing day-to-day commercial and contractual activities on commercial construction projects
- Pricing variations, preparing valuations and negotiating with clients and subcontractors
- Placing subcontract orders and managing subcontractor accounts
- Preparing interim valuations and final accounts
- Producing Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs)
- Attending site meetings as required, including occasional meetings in London
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the commercial construction sector
- Proven experience working on refurbishment, fit-out or strip-out projects
- Strong, broad construction knowledge
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure
- Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills
- Good level of Maths, English and IT skills
- Full UK driving licence
