AW Construction is a Folkestone based construction company, undertaking a broad range of commercial construction projects. Our work is predominantly strip out, refurbishment and fit out in nature. Our clients are predominately light industrial, shopping centres, universities, and housing associations. Project values typically range from £25,000 to £2m.
Applicants must have experience of working as an estimator in the commercial construction sector. The successful candidate would be based at our Folkestone office.
Key Responsibilities:- Preparing tenders, cost plans, and pricing documents.
- Assessing drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
- Conducting take-offs and bill preparation.
- Liaising with supply chain partners for quotations.
- Prepare and submit competitive tender submissions within deadlines.
- Assisting with procurement strategies and value engineering.
- Supporting handovers to the operations team following tender award.
- Maintaining accurate tender records and documentation.
- Working closely with the operational and commercial teams.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Estimator within the commercial construction sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Cost Engineering, or equivalent is advantageous.
- Experience with estimating software (e.g., Conquest, Causeway) is advantageous.
- Competent broad knowledge of construction principles.
- Ability to work clearly and accurately under pressure.
- Excellent communication and organisation skills.
- Good level of Maths, English and IT skills.
- Full UK Driving license.
- Willingness to travel for site visits within the M25 area.
