Key Responsibilities Preparation of surfaces before painting including cleaning, degreasing, application of appropriate chemicals i.e. thinners. Applying appropriate masking to parts / areas that are not to be coated. Ensuring cavities and dents are flattened using an appropriate filler and finished accordingly Ensuring the spray container is filled, and the spray gun is correctly connected to the air-hose. Ensure that the sprayer valves and nozzle is adjusted correctly to regulate width and pressure of spray according to the painting technique. Apply protective coating using the spray gun to surfaces of manufactured products. Maintain and clean equipment before and after use. Ensure that paints and chemicals are stored in the correct conditions. Managing inventory of paints and equipment. Ensuring that you always follow safety procedures. In the event that the coating of manufactured items are damaged as part of the manufacturing process, clean and make good and apply a suitable coating process. Inspection This role requires the wearing of applicable PPE including Air Fed Masks Qualifications You will have passed at least 5 GCSE's to grade C or better, including Maths, Science, and English. As a minimum you will have appropriate vocational training and experience Job holder’s skills and personality: You will need to have a high level of accuracy and an eye for detail to make sure that the finish of the paint is to the highest standard When spraying by hand you will need to concentrate for extended periods of time. You will need to have good levels of dexterity to apply accurate and consistent layers of primer and paint. You will need to be able to maintain records about the work you carry out and keep accurate records of stock levels. The work involves a certain amount of manual handling and manipulation of the assemblies. Strength, fitness and agility are therefore essential To complete the various assignments to the required standard within planned timings To work as a Team Member, be adaptable and to work with the minimum of supervision within an energetic team To ensure health and safety requirements are met To maintain Company standards, behaving in an ethical and professional manner in all business activities.
