The Role:

We are looking for a highly motivated New Product Development Project Manager to lead projects that enhance existing products and introduce new products to the Avtron portfolio. This is a key role in supporting Avtron's continued growth, with responsibility for coordinating cross-functional teams, suppliers and external customers to deliver successful new product development projects. You will take ownership of projects from initial concept and design through development, implementation and post-launch support, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. You will work closely with Engineering, Sourcing, Operations, Product Management, Sales and other stakeholders, providing clear direction, driving accountability and ensuring projects maintain momentum through to successful launch. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full project lifecycle from concept and design through development, implementation and post-launch support, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
  • Lead multiple new product development projects concurrently, establishing project plans, schedules, milestones and critical paths while maintaining clear ownership and accountability across the project team.
  • Coordinate Engineering, Sourcing, Operations, Product Management, Sales, suppliers and external customers to drive projects forward and achieve successful product launches.
  • Lead project meetings, coordinate team activities, identify risks and resource gaps, remove obstacles and ensure team members deliver their agreed actions and milestones.
  • Communicate project progress, expectations, risks and key decisions clearly to stakeholders and provide regular updates to executive leadership to maintain organisational alignment.
  • Work with Sales and Product Management to understand customer and market requirements, support customer meetings and field visits, and ensure new products meet commercial and customer expectations.
  • Analyse sales forecasts, project costs and relevant business data to ensure projects meet profitability expectations and support Avtron's strategic growth objectives.
  • Apply continuous improvement throughout the product development process, identifying opportunities to improve project delivery, reduce delays and ensure lessons learned are incorporated into future projects.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering, Business or a related discipline, with experience delivering technical product development or project management programmes.
  • Proven track record of managing projects from concept through to completion, delivering on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards, with a strong understanding of new product development principles.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and leadership skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams, provide clear direction and communicate effectively with senior leadership, customers and suppliers.

The role is primarily site-based, with regular collaboration across Engineering, Operations, Sourcing, Sales and Product Management. Occasional travel to customer and supplier locations may also be required.
