The Private Capital Transactions tax team sits within a private equity transactions platform that covers deals from transaction and transformation through to exit. The platform brings together private equity deal specialists with portfolio, infrastructure, restructuring and fund structuring specialists. Focus shifts between these areas as the economic cycle develops.
The tax team advises on buy-side and sell-side tax due diligence, tax structuring, funds flow, tax modelling, SPA review, listings and carve-outs. Its work covers high-profile, newsworthy deals for clients of all sizes across all industries, working closely with a global tax network.
As a deal adviser, you’ll build strong UK tax technical experience alongside a commercial understanding of what matters to clients in a transaction.
Your key responsibilities
- Build and maintain tax relationships with clients, delivering a high standard of client service
- Help win work by managing existing clients and contributing to new ones
- Manage tax projects to a high technical standard, with a commercial, deal-focused approach
- Maximise value for clients and the firm while managing risk appropriately
- Be client focused, strategically aware and commercially minded
- Communicate clearly, in writing and orally
- Build internal and external networks for the team to draw on
- Develop junior staff through supervision, coaching and mentoring
- Contribute to team strategy and operations, including junior staff development and assignments
To qualify, you must have
- Experience as a UK tax practitioner, with reviewing skills and expertise in restructuring tax
- ACA, ATT, CTA or an international equivalent, or a law qualification
- A degree
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Project management skills, including planning and prioritising work, meeting deadlines, and managing your own budget and time
- Experience in UK tax compliance
