We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established independent freight forwarder specialising in air freight. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Air Freight Export Coordinator to join their close-knit operations team. This is a hands-on, end-to-end operational role ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, values stability, and wants to be part of a supportive and professional environment for the long term.
What We're Looking For:
This role is best suited to a candidate who has built solid, consistent experience within a small to medium-sized freight forwarding environment and is genuinely happy operating in a hands-on operations position. If you are someone who has held stable roles, has strong start-to-finish air freight export experience, and is looking to settle into a company where you can grow steadily this is the opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-end coordination of air freight export shipments
- Booking freight directly with airlines and overseas agents
- Preparing and checking air freight documentation HAWB, MAWB, invoices, packing lists and DG where applicable
- Liaising with customers, airlines, handlers and overseas partners
- Monitoring flights and proactively managing delays
- Accurate job costing and file completion
- Supporting time-critical and urgent shipments when required
Requirements:
- 15 years of experience in air freight operations within a freight forwarding environment
- Strong start-to-finish knowledge of air export processes
- Consistent employment history stability and commitment are important to our client
- Background within a small to medium-sized freight forwarder preferred
- Lives within a reasonable commute of the office
- Organised, detail-focused and reliable
- Confident communicator with customers and suppliers
- Able to work independently and manage priorities effectively
Desirable Skills:
- Import experience (air or sea) a bonus
- European road freight experience a bonus
- Experience with e-Customs or freight management software
- Experience handling AOG, pharma or time-critical freight
- Dangerous Goods (DG) knowledge or certification
