About the trainee role…

As part of our Finance Admin team, you’ll learn how our business works behind the scenes. You’ll be trained to use our contract management system which helps us invoice customers and make sure our suppliers are paid on time and accurately.

You’ll learn on the job from a supportive team, gaining hands-on experience and building skills in finance administration as you grow in the role. We offer hybrid working, so you’ll spend 2 days a week working alongside the team in our Chorley office.

What your day could look like…

  • Learning how to enter and manage day-to-day finance information accurately, such as setting up projects, raising purchase orders, managing variations and tracking costs and payments.
  • Helping the team keep important finance and system information accurate and up to date.
  • Working closely with colleagues in Operations and Commercial to understand how our systems work and how reports and checks are set up.
  • Gaining experience in helping to produce accurate reports so the business understands what money is coming in and going out.
  • Supporting the team by responding to questions and helping resolve basic queries.
  • Communicating with internal stakeholders in a professional and friendly way to build positive working relationships.
  • Learning how to carry out key processes and reconciliations within agreed deadlines.
  • Supporting the team by helping prepare information for client and company audits.
  • Supporting the Team Manager by preparing productivity reports.

About you…

You will need the following to be eligible for this role:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at a grade 4 or above.
  • Some level 3 qualifications like A-Levels, a T-Level or BTEC qualifications would be good too but they aren’t essential.

This role is entry level, ideal for a school leaver and would be a great fit if you’re confident using digital tools like Microsoft Office and enjoy working with others. We’re looking for someone who communicates clearly, stays organised, and pays attention to detail. You’ll need to be comfortable working in a team and able to take initiative when working independently. If you’re motivated, eager to learn, and interested in developing leadership skills, we’d love to hear from you!
