We’re looking for a Commercial Finance Analyst to join our growing team!
Location: Chorley, with a flexible hybrid working arrangement.
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £35,400.00 - £42,200.00 (we would reconsider for the right candidate based on experience)
Due to continued growth within Avove, we are expanding our finance team and are looking for a Finance Analyst to support our Severn Trent Framework. This role will work closely with operational, commercial, and finance teams to provide financial insight, support budgeting and forecasting activities, monitor contract performance, and help drive efficiencies. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting, and informed decision-making across the framework.
Responsibilities:
- Support annual planning, target setting, and budgeting processes through data analysis and reporting.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive operational efficiencies across the contract.
- Facilitate cash flow reviews, maintain accurate forecasts, and provide financial updates to senior management.
- Support the delivery of financial targets through performance monitoring and improvement plans.
- Assist with month-end processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Work with commercial teams to ensure adherence to payment terms and improve cash collection.
- Build strong relationships across the business, providing clear communication and financial insight to stakeholders.
About you:
- Part-qualified or qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) finance professional, or qualified by experience, with strong financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyse complex data and provide clear, actionable insights to support business performance.
- Experience working in a finance business partnering or commercial finance environment, with the ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of management reporting, cost control, financial performance improvement, and forecasting processes.
- Experience working collaboratively with operational and commercial teams to drive efficiencies and improve business processes.
- Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred) and good understanding of accounting principles, reporting requirements, and financial controls.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, build strong stakeholder relationships, and support the delivery of financial and operational objectives.
