About the role
Our Commercial Team working on the successful Severn Trent Water account are looking for a motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the team.
You will support the Commercial team in carrying out normal commercial and contractual duties.
Location
Derby (operating on a hybrid working model, with time split between our Derby office and home working)
Responsibilities
- Support the Commercial Team in ensuring compliance with Avove systems and processes.
- Work to strict deadlines set by the contract and Avove requirements.
- Monitor and report on the financial performance of assigned contracts.
- Assist in setting up suitable construction contracts to meet procurement needs.
- Prepare accurate financial statements for assigned contracts.
- Administer contract requirements, including managing variations to the works.
- Maintain records to support claims, time extensions, and variation evaluations.
- Manage subcontractor appointments and oversee payment applications and final accounts.
- Ensure timely submission of invoices and payment applications to clients.
- Support Business Development with information for PQQs and tenders.
Skills/Experience
- Competent with Microsoft packages (particularly excel)
- Degree qualification or studying towards (RICS or equivalent) is desirable but not mandatory.
- Experience in NEC3 or 4 Contracts would be desirable but not mandatory.
