The Technical Compliance Engineer will support the delivery of non-infrastructure projects on our United Utilities account. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring project documentation, asset data and compliance activities are delivered accurately on time and in line with key project milestones. You’ll work closely with design, construction, commissioning and project management teams to ensure seamless handover to the client and full compliance with programme requirements.

What Will Your Day Look Like

  • Coordinating closely with internal teams — design, construction, project management and commissioning.
  • Managing and expediting project handovers to the client, including scheduling and tracking progress.
  • Monitoring and reporting on documentation status throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Administering drawing and document registers, including processing red line drawings through to As Built.
  • Collating O&M manuals and key project documentation, including uploading to the client’s common data environment.
  • Supporting asset registration through data capture, data entry and compliance with client databases.
  • Completing site surveys, asset labelling and tagging.
  • Driving continuous improvement across project processes, systems and documentation workflows.

About You

  • CSCS Card, EUSR Skills Card and FE/HE qualification in Engineering or Design (desirable).
  • Knowledge of sewage and water treatment processes, pumping systems and associated equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, PFDs, technical documentation and engineering drawings.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage high volume workloads to tight deadlines.
  • Experience of client takeover and handover procedures, ensuring full compliance and traceability.
  • Excellent document control capability, including maintaining traceability and tracking deliverables.
  • Strong IT skills, including advanced use of Microsoft Office/Office 365, with an understanding of water industry supply chains and design processes.
