A Senior Civil Engineer will deliver civil design elements for water industry projects within a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include leading projects or work packages, providing technical direction and supervision to junior engineers, and contributing to successful delivery from concept through completion. The role is based in Warrington with flexible hybrid working.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and review design concepts, calculations, detailed designs, drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation.
  • Supervise junior team members, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and per specifications.
  • Mentor project team members, providing ongoing technical input.
  • Assist in the preparation, management, and monitoring of project budgets, including resource planning, financial tracking, and reporting.
  • Prepare and review feasibility studies, appraisal and assessment reports, and other written technical documents.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company’s Integrated Management System, including Health & Safety, Environmental, and statutory/regulatory requirements.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong technical background in designing water and wastewater non‑infrastructure works; applicants from related disciplines are welcomed.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office and engineering software such as AutoCAD.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organisational ability and capability to produce clear, concise technical reports.
  • Proven team leadership, with a committed approach to meeting project deadlines.
  • Client‑focused service delivery approach.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive mindset supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong focus on Health and Safety, embedding best practice into all aspects of work.
