About the role
We are currently recruiting for Senior CAD Technician to join our UK wide Water Design Team. The positions are required to support our expanding Water Utilities workload and will typically involve providing designs for water and wastewater, infrastructure, and non-infrastructure projects as part of a multi-disciplinary design team. This will include design delivery at all stages, from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed designs for construction and commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Work to appropriate project controls, guidelines and procedures.
- Support the design team and other team members in undertaking a wide range of design related tasks.
- Produce design outputs in accordance with the company and client CAD procedures and standards.
- Have an understanding of BIM on a project and be able to lead on its implementation.
- Supervise Technicians and Trainee Technicians where necessary.
- Be familiar with water and wastewater, infrastructure and non-infrastructure design techniques and solutions.
- Understand the structure and activities of the business.
- Have a basic knowledge of our clients and the water market in general.
- Work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Understand the importance of delivering to programme and notifying the design lead when issues that affect delivery arise.
- Understand and use the relevant Quality Management System processes and procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental legislation, particularly the CDM Regulations.
Skills/Experience
- A relevant degree qualification or have completed a learning agreement/apprenticeship and obtained a relevant technical qualification (HNC, HND etc.).
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit & Navisworks, specialising in either Civil 3D or Revit.
- Have the adaptability and understanding to help in the upskilling of people and development of software families or parts lists.
